Effortless Reading – The Foundation of Student Success!
IMAGINE… reading as effortless as listening to the radio and as enjoyable as watching a movie.
IMAGINE… only having to read a textbook once to understand it.
It Is Possible!
SpellRead systematically and explicitly develops the reading skills which are foundational to your success.
How does this program develop effortless reading?
You master the 44 sounds of the English language rather than memorize a million words!
Reading is an auditory as well as a visual process. Skilled readers effortlessly process the sounds of language and use these sounds (phonological skills) when reading and writing. Most people have not learned these skills to the point that they are automatic. Neuroimaging research has shown that as little as a 20-50 millisecond delay in the ability to process speech sounds will reduce reading fluency and/or comprehension.
Phonics alone is not enough.
SpellRead develops your “sound system” to the point of mastery. This links the auditory and visual aspects of the reading process so that reading becomes efficient, effective, effortless and enjoyable.
Effective For People 5 to 75
The effectiveness of SpellRead has been proven through clinical trials and neurological studies conducted by leading North American researchers. This “sound reading technology” is delivered to adults and youth, individually and in small groups, with student grouping based on age and reading ability.
Student Monitoring and Reporting
Progress is carefully monitored as you advance through SpellRead The following graphs identify results of 6th and 7th grade students who received approximately 100 hours of the program during school hours over 5 months. Once phonological skills are complete, secure and automatic, other reading skills continue to develop.
SpellRead also provides rapid and powerful gains in oral fluency, as well as reading fluency and comprehension, to those learning English as a second language (ESL).
