Assessments

The initial in-depth assessment provides invaluable information that enables us to understand how the individual is reading. We examine the individual’s auditory processing, phonological, reading, and spelling skills to both benchmark those skills and to predict how much time would likely be required to enable the student to read and write efficiently.

Regular progress assessments are also an important part of the Spell Read program. They allow us to measure the success of our intervention at various stages in the process and to make changes in programming if required.

The final or exit assessment gives a clear picture of the growth in phonological , reading and spelling skills, by comparing the initial and the final level of skill in these areas. The objective is to provide concrete evidence that the student has developed efficient reading and spelling skills, in addition to the inevitable improvement in confidence and ability to achieve academically.

Whole School Assessments

Screenings and/or in-depth assessments for whole school populations are available. Per student costs and testing process alternatives are available on request.
